In this privacy policy (“Privacy Policy “), Emergence Skills and Emergent Corporation Pte Ltd. are collectively referred to as “company”, “we”, “our” or “us”. 

Emergence Skills business is managed and operated by Emergent Corporation Pte Ltd., a Singapore registered company (Co. Reg. No: 201323955H) since 2013. emergenceskills.com  and our mobile application are referred to as (collectively) “Website“. “You”, “your” or “users” refers to guests or registered customers.

This Privacy Policy discloses the privacy practices about your personal data collected through your activities on our Website or from other media when you use them for our services. By visiting the website, you are deemed to have accepted to our collection, use and disclosure of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

This policy is adhered to the regulations and principles of the Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (No.26 of 2012) (“Act”). ”). The Act establishes a data protection law for individuals and organizations. This Act consists of various rules and provisions governing the collection, use, disclosure and care of personal data.

Personal Data

Personal data (“Personal Data”) includes all or any information collected by us when you visit to our Website, use our products and services, and/or communicate to us. Sometime, we collect Personal Data from our existing or past users through our referral program or from social networks such as LinkedIn, Facebook. We shall handle your Personal Data confidentially adhering to our Privacy Policy in connection with the Act.

Purpose for Collection

We collect the Personal Data from user for account administration purposes, to track user trends, and for the other purposes mentioned in this Privacy Policy.

You may send us an email or contact us using mobile phone through direct call, text massages. We may use email or mobile phone detail to send you information related to our product and services. We also use them to respond to your inquiries, and/or other requests or questions raised by you. Our company will not share, sell, or authorize any third party to use your email address or mobile phone detail for commercial purposes without your consent. 

Use and disclosure of Personal Data

We may share some of Personal Data(to the extent necessary) with third-party vendors to provide better user experience about our website services and customer services. For example, we use Google Analytics to generate reports on Website usage, user traffic, user trend & interests and geographic & demographic data in order to optimize the Website and services for our users and prepare the potential customer list. Our company take necessary consideration for personal data protection and prohibit any third parties, who engage with us to use the provided Personal Data for above purpose, from using or sharing it for any other purpose.

We may also provide Personal Data to external organizations as required by any applicable law, regulation, legal process or governmental request; or needed for security and/or technical issues; or required to protect our and users’ rights and safety. Some of our IT service providers (if any) may be located in different parts of world, for which we may then need to transfer your personal data (to the extent necessary) overseas.

In general, we only disclose your Personal Data with your consent whether implied or expressed, unless otherwise required or permitted by law. We also take necessary consideration for personal data protection to ensure that the external organisations to which we have disclosed your information are also legally bound to protect the privacy of your Personal Data.

Accuracy, update and access of Personal Data

We are very much relying on accuracy and up datedness of your Personal Data collected and held by us in operating our business activities effectively and efficiently. It may need us occasionally to request you to inform to our Data Protection Officer (“DPO”) in writing if your Personal Data is required to be updated for any change or correction.

We may also provide you an access to your Personal Data upon receiving and reviewing your formal written request to our DPO, within 4 weeks from the request being made. We  will notify you in advance if there is an administrative fee applied to you to cover the reasonable cost of handling and processing of the requests to access your Personal Data.

We may not be able to give access to your Personal Data under certain circumstances, for example, if the Personal Data links to any anticipated legal proceedings.  In such a case, we will provide you the explanation in writing why as required by applicable laws.

Withdrawal of Consent

We will take appropriate action, if you wish to withdraw your consent for us to send you sales and marketing information through email, telephone calls and /or SMS-Text. Upon receiving and reviewing your formal written request for withdrawal of consent to our DPO, we may need about 4 weeks to get the changes taken place.

There will be some consequences of your withdrawal of consent. You may not get timely sales and marketing information and customer care support. We will not be able to provide you the customized and up-to-date experience which we design time to time to serve our users better.

Data Security and Retention

We have IT industry standardized security measures in place for our Website to keep your Personal Data with us protected against the loss, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure, damage and/or alteration. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure.

In order to minimize the risk, we keep your Personal Data under secured networks with limited and controlled accessibility to protect confidentiality of your Personal Data. In addition, we use Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology to encrypt all sensitive information, such as credit card detail, provided to us. Our company also uses secure gateway services to process all payment transactions.

We will retain your Personal Data collected and held by us for a period of time as required by law and/or our business activities. We will also delete and/or destroy the Personal Data held by us when its retention is no longer necessary for any legal or business purposes based on best of our knowledge and assessment.

This website may contain links to other websites which are run by independent third parties with their own privacy policy for personal data protection. As such we do not take any responsibilities for the privacy practices and/or the content of such websites. We believe that you should read the privacy policy of each such website, if you happen to visit it. We recommend directly contacting the website owners or operators, if you have any concern or query related to their privacy policy.

Responsibility for other users’ Personal data

We will have group communication to manage our business service activities. You should agree to be responsibly respectful for other users’ Personal Data which you might obtain through such group communication. You will not disclose other users’ Personal Data to any third party until you have consent from us and the relevant user(s) or it is required by Law to do so.

Do Not Call (“DNC”) Registry Singapore

In compliance with the DNC Registry regulation, we will not send unsolicited telemarketing messages (“specified messages”) through voice calls, text messages, or images to Singapore telephone numbers registered on the DNC Registry, unless users/visitors has allowed us to do so with their clear and unambiguous written consent. In the case of written consent given to us, we will keep sending specified messages until we receive your request for withdrawal of consent in written.

We will contact you at the telephone provided by you in the limited circumstances allowed under the DNC Registry, if you have recently used our services. However, we will stop contacting you for any given purpose or all purposes, if you request for it in written.
Please be informed that we may still make contact with you by other communication media if required by law.

Concerns Resolution

We do our best to handle your Personal Data confidentially and take appropriate action for your withdrawal of consent in reasonable time. If you have any concerns about our handling and caring of your Personal Data or you believe that the privacy of your Personal Data or your withdrawal of consent has not been fully taken place, please contact our DPO and we will address your concern(s) appropriately and promptly.

Under 18

We do not have any business services for children under 18 years old (“under 18”). So, we do not expect any Personal Data from under 18. If you are under 18, we request you not to submit any personal information through the Website. You may visit our website only if your parents/legal guardian has permitted. If we come to know by any means that you, being under 18, has given your Personal Data to us while visiting our Website, we will delete any information related to you, after verification.

Users’ feedback on the Website

We may receive our users’ testimonials/comments/reviews about our services. We may post them on our Website, so our new visitors may know about our existing users’ experience with us and our services. Such users’ feedback may contain personal information including name, designation, company name and/or image.
